The Fractional App has a built in Onboarding Checklist to help ensure that you follow the right steps during your Pilot period to get up and running as early as possible - it’s the best chance of renewing your mandate for a long, healthy relationship! Our team actively reviews your progress during the Pilot / onboarding period.

Accessing the Checklist
Your new mandate will typically have an Onboarding Checklist added to it by the account management team, which you can access from the Dashboard, Mandates page, and Mandate detail views.


Checklist for Reference
Follow these proven best practices for your Fractional mandate and mark them complete as you progress.
- Communications
- Request a company email for your communications, we suggest legal@clientdomain.com.
- Request an invitation to internal messaging tools (Slack, Teams, Discord, etc.).
- Exchange phone numbers.
- Schedule a recurring meeting with your primary contact.
- Legal Records
- Request access to your Client’s full suite of legal documents and records.
- Review the Client’s organizational chart to determine the key decision-makers.
- Review the Client’s minute book.
- Perform a legal assessment to build a project roadmap for your engagement.
- Establishing Expectations
- Response time for requests and tasks.
- Your availability for the client (including any vacation or planed time off).
- Utilization / docketing reporting cadence.
- Authority when working with external counsel.
- Team Integration
- Attend an all-hands or team meeting to introduce yourself to your new team.
- If possible, meet your primary contact in person. Goodlawyer will cover the cost (up to $300) if you notify your Account Manager in advance.
- Set up time blocks within your own calendar dedicated to the engagement.
- Add a sentiment score monthly to the mandate card in the Fractional App.
