Welcome to the Goodlawyer network.
This Guide is here to help you understand how Goodlawyer works, what we expect from you, and how to get the most out of being part of the network. It covers everything from building a strong profile and understanding our different mandate types to getting matched, working with clients, docketing your time, invoicing, and managing an active mandate.
A few things are especially important:
- Keep your profile current. Your Work Preferences, availability, and About You section are what help us understand what you actually want and match you appropriately.
- Understand the different ways you can work. Goodlawyer supports Fractional General Counsel, Fractional In-House, Full-Time Secondments, and Full-Time Employment opportunities, each with a different level of commitment and structure.
- Be patient with the matching process. Opportunities don’t come immediately, it can take several months before you are ever matched. We care more about finding the right fit than putting you into the first available mandate — and remember, being part of the network is free and has no obligations.
- Know what happens once you’re matched. We support the commercial side of your practice — from sourcing clients and managing the deal through to billing, collections, and ongoing account support.
